What’s New at Passport
Global commerce is getting more complex, forcing ecommerce brands to rethink compliance, shipping, and the cross-border customer experience.
Our latest release includes major updates across Passport Global, Passport Portal, and Shopify—including Merchant of Record for cross-border, TikTok Shop support, Global Returns, expanded custom APIs, new AI-features, and more.
Passport Portal
When brands expand globally, they need instant access to insights and actionable data, not reports buried in inboxes.
That’s why we revamped Passport Portal with a brand new homepage to empower your faster, smarter global growth.
As a Passport customer, you enjoy 24/7 access to the tools you need to power your global growth. View all of your current and past shipments, access performance analytics across markets, and stay ahead of issues before they impact your customers.
Your new command center for confident global expansion is here.
Proactive Exceptions Visibility
The new Passport Portal homepage now surfaces shipments requiring attention, including the reason a delivery did not occur as planned.
International Performance Data
Brands can now view top markets by revenue and top-performing products directly on the Passport Portal homepage, providing quicker access to actionable international performance insights.
AI Recommendations
Wondering what market you should expand to next? Now you can generate recommendations based on data from Passport customers.
AI Chat
Passport is piloting an AI chat experience inside the Passport Portal for instant answers and access to brands’ international data without having to build reports.
Add and Manage Users
Users can now invite additional team members to create Passport Portal accounts, improving collaboration and eliminating manual user creation processes.
First-Mile Labels for UK 3PLs
3PLs based in the United Kingdom can now generate first-mile shipping labels directly through Passport Portal, expanding flexibility and streamlining UK workflows.
Passport Global
Merchant of Record for Cross-Border Management
Passport now offers Merchant of Record (MOR) services across Passport Global, available for Cross-Border Management in addition to In-Country Enablement and Marketplace Management.
Brands can choose the model that fits best—Passport Seller of Record (SOR®) or MOR—based on their expansion strategy. With MOR, Passport assumes legal seller status to manage global tax and regulatory requirements such as VAT, GST, and GDPR, reducing compliance burden and enabling faster growth.
TikTok Shop US and UK Support
Passport now supports TikTok Shop expansion in the US and UK, providing the financial and compliance infrastructure brands need to launch without opening local bank accounts. Passport offers Merchant of Record services and inventory management support for our Passport Global Marketplace Management customers. Product listing creation and listing optimization are not included.

Passport Global for Custom Websites
Passport Global’s expanded custom website capabilities are now out of beta and powered by newly developed APIs available to all brands.
These APIs enable geolocation-based localization, white-labeled country and currency selectors, real-time product currency conversion, price inclusivity (shipping, duties, and taxes), and flexible local-currency rate calculation—giving brands full control over a fully localized international experience.
The result is a seamless growth path to being a leading global brand, without sacrificing ownership, flexibility, or performance.
EU EPR and Deforestation Reporting Support
Passport will support monthly reporting requirements under evolving EU enforcement guidelines as part of Passport Global In-Country Enablement, including EPR and deforestation-related compliance documentation and reporting workflows.
AI HS Code Classification
Passport now leverages AI-powered HS code classification to streamline and improve customs accuracy behind the scenes. AI can generate customs descriptions, match products to country-specific HS codes, and pull manifest data to create new classifications.
Passport Shipping Protection for UK Brands
Passport Shipping Protection is now available for UK orders, enabling brands to offer customers added peace of mind at checkout with optional shipment protection. This enhancement helps reduce post-purchase friction, improve the delivery experience, and streamline resolution for lost or damaged packages.
Introducing Passport Returns
Designed to lower logistics costs and simplify cross-border returns, Passport Returns enables returns to the United States from anywhere in the world.
Plus, Passport Returns includes duty and tax refunds in eligible markets when Passport act as your Seller of Record (SOR®).
Currently in pilot with select brands, it’s especially impactful for apparel and high-AOV categories where returns drive conversion.
Shopify
Shopify Plus Checkout Extensions
Passport now supports two Shopify Plus checkout extensions to improve transparency and conversion for orders with delivered duty paid (DDP) shipping.
Expanded Checkout Block Extension: clearer breakdown of shipping, duties, and taxes at checkout
Shipping Assurance Extension: reinforces that duties and taxes are included upfront and there will be no additional costs at delivery
Shopify App Enhancements
The Passport Shipping app on Shopify has enabled brands to provide accurate shipping, duty and tax costs to their customers.
Now, we’ve enhanced the app to act as your new home base for working with Passport. Our app now provides direct access to the Passport Portal along with help resources, FAQs, and a more streamlined onboarding experience.
Track Passport Shipments on Shopify
Passport is now listed as a carrier directly within Shopify, giving brands deeper visibility and automation capabilities for their international shipments.
With Passport recognized as a supported carrier, you can track SLAs natively inside Shopify and monitor deliveries right where you work.
Brands can also trigger tracking-based emails and customer updates using Passport shipment events, giving shoppers receive timely, reliable notifications from dispatch through delivery.
The result is tighter operational oversight, more proactive customer communication, and a seamless post-purchase experience powered by real-time Passport tracking data.
Global rules are shifting fast. As you plan for growth this year, work with Passport to stay ahead of regulatory change, protect margins, and deliver seamless international experiences.
“Now we have a full-fledged eight figure international business where we are spending money and investing in specific markets. And we’re seeing those results show up.”
